India has successfully completed the maiden test flight of its first Made-in-India Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft from the Tata-Airbus facility in Vadodara, Gujarat. The milestone marks the first time a military aircraft has been assembled in India by a private-sector consortium, led by Airbus and Tata Advanced Systems. The aircraft is part of a $2.6 billion programme that will see 56 C-295 transport planes inducted into the Indian Air Force, with 40 being manufactured domestically.
