LIVE: African Nations Push for Peace as Israel-Iran Conflict Continues | Firstpost Africa | N18G

Welcome to Firstpost Africa with Alyson Le Grange
We are live from Durban, South Africa

As the Iran-Israel conflict spirals into open warfare, African nations are voicing concern, calling for peace, restraint, and global diplomacy. South Africa condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, backing a peaceful resolution. Kenya criticised Iran’s retaliatory attacks while urging both sides to de-escalate. Nigeria warned of rising instability and backed international diplomacy. Egypt, facing direct fallout, put its military on alert as markets crashed and fuel supply fears grew. Tunisia sided strongly with Iran, while Ghana and Namibia raised alarms over economic shocks. Though not direct participants, African governments are united in fearing that this conflict could spill over, economically and politically, dragging the continent into a crisis it didn’t create but may still suffer from.
