Here, several emergency vehicles can be seen responding to a burning boat in Hamburg’s HafenCity.

Around midday on April 12, 2026, a fire broke out on an 8-meter-long recreational boat. The skipper, who was on board at the time, managed to save himself by jumping into the water. The fire control center triggered a major alarm. In addition to fire engines and boats, the fire brigade’s new diver support vehicle was also dispatched to the scene. This vehicle has only recently been put into service. A vehicle from DLRG Hamburg-Bergedorf also responded. The rescue helicopter “Christoph Hansa” was likewise deployed to the incident.

Fortunately, most units were able to stand down or abort their response shortly afterward. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the skipper was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

The recreational boat was towed by fire brigade boats to Entenwerder, where it was secured at a pier. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
