Hochhaus-Sprengung: In Duisburg fällt ein weiterer „Weißer Riese“

In einem Duisburger Brennpunktviertel ist am Sonntag ein 63 Meter hohes Hochhaus gesprengt worden. Die monatelang vorbereitete Sprengung verlief erfolgreich, wie die Stadt mitteilte. Der Wohnblock im Stadtteil Hochheide war eines von ursprünglich sechs Hochhäusern, die auch als sogenannte „Weiße Riesen“ bekannt sind. In den vergangenen Jahren waren bereits zwei Weiße Riesen gesprengt worden. Der jetzt gesprengte Block war seit Juli 2020 unbewohnt. Das Haus verfügte über 160 Wohnungen.
