Das vier Meter lange Tiefseewesen, das normalerweise in 1.500 Metern Tiefe lebt, fasziniert mit seiner glänzenden Haut und tentakelartigen Auswüchsen. Die Sichtung sorgt weltweit für Aufsehen, da der Riemfisch in der Mythologie oft als Vorbote von Naturkatastrophen wie Erdbeben oder Tsunamis gilt.
