JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Saat publik fokus akan kebijakan 3 juta rumah, pada Mei 2024 mencuat kebijakan yang tak kala membuat publik bisa mengalihkan fokusnya. Lantas ada pemerintah menerbitkan peraturan yang mewajibakan pemotingan gaji pekerja sebesar 3% untuk tabungan perumahan rakyat (Tapera). Tujuannya untuk membantu masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah (MBR) memiliki rumah.Menteri PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono dicecar terkait Tapera saat Rapat Kerja dengan anggota Komisi V DPR RI. Program Tapera ini dianggap sama-sama ditolak oleh pemberi pekerja dan pekerja sendiri. Pernyataan Basuki selama ini terkait isu tersebut dianggap tidak firm. Oleh karena itu, anggota DPR Irine Yusiana Roba Putri dari Fraksi PDI Perjuangan menanyakan manfaat Tapera bagi ASN dan pekerja swasta.
Kepala Kantor Staf Kepresidenan (KSP) Moeldoko yang memastikan, pelaksanaan program Tapera akan tetap berjalan, sementata ini ditunda dan akan berlaku pada 2027.
