Il governo lavora a un provvedimento che fisserebbe al 30% il limite massimo di alunni non italofoni per classe, misura annunciata dalla premier Giorgia #Meloni dal palco di Fenix, la festa di Gioventù nazionale, insieme al divieto di burqa e niqab a scuola. Per difendere la proposta, Meloni ha richiamato due circolari firmate da Sergio #Mattarella quando era ministro dell'Istruzione, tra il 1989 e il 1990, con cui si raccomandava di non superare le quattro o cinque unità di alunni stranieri per classe. Una lettura che buona parte della stampa ha respinto: la segretaria del Pd Elly #Schlein ha ribattuto che «nelle classi non ci sono italiani o stranieri, ci sono bambine e bambini» e che «tutti hanno diritto a una scuola di qualità», bollando come discriminatoria l'operazione del governo. È su questo terreno — tra il precedente presidenziale e la sua strumentalizzazione mediatica — che si sono confrontati Fabio #Duranti, Alberto #Contri e Giorgio #Bianchi, in diretta ai microfoni di Un Giorno Speciale.
