Aussi frustrant soit-il, l’échec peut révéler des ressources insoupçonnées. L’écrivain Alexander Krützfeldt a lamentablement échoué à rénover une maison pour y vivre en famille. Un fiasco dont il a tiré un livre sur l’art de rebondir.
La plasticienne américaine Cassidy Toner assume l’autodérision dans son œuvre. Elle s’inspire notamment du dessin animé "Bip Bip et Coyote", où Carnivorous vulgaris poursuit en vain Acceleratii incredibus. Une parfaite allégorie de la lose ! Parmi les pièces qu’elle expose actuellement à Bâle : "Back in 5 minutes", une installation "inaboutie".
Dans le numéro du cirque Roncalli, le clown blanc cherche à garder sa dignité tandis que les deux augustes enchaînent les gaffes avec délectation. Derrière cet apparent chaos se cache un véritable art de la maladresse qui invite à ne pas se prendre trop au sérieux.
Hester van Dijk et Reinder Bakker sont les têtes pensantes de l’agence Overtreders W. Avec leurs constructions légères, ils vont à rebours du perfectionnisme de certains architectes. Pour le festival Arcadia de Leeuwarden, les Néerlandais ont imaginé la Bouwurk, une maison communale fabriquée à partir de matériaux recyclés. Une démarche expérimentale qui invite chacun à mettre la main à la pâte.
