En forme de thriller, retour sur une saga judiciaire hors norme entre le milliardaire russe Dmitry Rybolovlev et le marchand d’art suisse Yves Bouvier, accusé d’avoir orchestré la plus grande fraude artistique du XXIe siècle. Deuxième épisode : de 2003 à 2014, Yves Bouvier acquiert pour Dmitri Rybolovlev trente-huit œuvres majeures – souvent via de grandes maisons de vente comme Sotheby’s.

Parmi ces toiles, L’empire des lumières de Magritte ou encore Les serpents d’eau de Klimt. À la tête de l’une des plus prestigieuses et coûteuses collections privées au monde, le milliardaire, président de l'AS Monaco depuis 2011, s’interroge alors sur les marges que Bouvier, jouant de l’opacité des transactions, aurait perçues au-delà des commissions annoncées. En 2015, le marchand d’art suisse est finalement arrêté à Monaco et placé en détention.
