Ousmane Dembélé hat in Paris den Ballon d’Or als weltbester Fußballer gewonnen – und konnte seine Tränen dabei kaum zurückhalten. Der Stürmer von Champions-League-Sieger Paris Saint-Germain setzte sich vor dem jungen Superstar Lamine Yamal durch, der als bester Spieler unter 21 Jahren ausgezeichnet wurde. Für Deutschland gab es hingegen wenig Grund zur Freude: Florian Wirtz, als einziger nominierter Deutscher dabei, belegte nur Rang 29. Bei den Frauen gewann wie schon im Vorjahr Aitana Bonmatí vom FC Barcelona und bestätigte damit ihre Ausnahmestellung im Weltfußball.
