JAKARTA, KOMPASTV - Ketua MPR Ahmad Muzani membawakan pidato pembukaan di Hari Konstitusi RI, Senin (18/8/2025).
Ahmad Muzani menyampaikan konstitusi adalah cerminan dari cita-cita mulia para pendiri bangsa.
"Ia (Konstitusi) adalah wujud nyata dari visi para pendiri bangsa tentang sebuah bangsa yang menjunjung tinggi keadilan sosial memastikan kemakmuran untuk semua menjaga persatuan dalam perbedaan dan memiliki kedaulatan penuh sebagai negara yang merdeka," kata Muzani dalam pidatonya, di Gedung Nusantara IV, Kompleks Parlemen, Jakarta, Senin (18/8/2025).
Ia juga mengingatkan terkait catatan sejarah terkait perjalanan awal bangsa Indonesia merdeka diwarnai pertentangan antara kepentingan politik dan ideologi.
Untuk itu MPR harus memastikan bahwa Undang-Undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia tahun 1945 tetap utuh, relevan.
"Mari kita gunakan setiap kewenangan yang kita miliki baik melalui pengkajian, sosialisasi maupun perumusan kebijakan untuk memastikan bahwa konstitusi tetap tegak dan tidak tergoyahkan dengan demikian tidak hanya mewariskan sebuah negara merdeka tetapi kita juga mewariskan sebuah bangsa yang berdaulat adil, makmur, berlandaskan pada konstitusi yang kokoh," kata Ahmad Muzani di akhir pidatonya.
