India Tells What's Real Tea? FSSAI Warns Herbal Drinks Over Misleading Labels | Spotlight | N18G
India defines What’s the Real Tea as the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has cleared the air. FSSAI has clarified that only products made from the Camellia sinensis plant can legally be sold as “tea" in India. Products like herbal tea, flower tea and rooibos tea are being sold as “tea" in the market, even though these items are not made from Camellia sinensis. The move is aimed at curbing the misleading labels in the rapidly expanding herbal and wellness drinks market. The FSSAI has directed the States and Union Territories to act against Food Operating Businesses to take action if they label the products as Tea, which amounts to misbranding and misleading.India Tea Rules | FSSAI Tea Clarification | Camellia Sinensis Tea | Herbal Tea Misbranding | FSSAI Food Safety | Tea Labeling India | Herbal Drinks Market India | Rooibos Tea India | Flower Tea India | Food Safety News India | Firstpost Spotlight | Firstpost | News Live | World News | Latest News | Global News | International News | News | Trending News
