The House is set to vote this morning on a measure to reopen the federal government, following the funding bill’s passage through a key procedural hurdle in the senate.The bipartisan agreement to end the 42-day government shutdown cleared the House Rules Committee overnight, with unanimous Republican support and all Democrats voting in opposition.
Flight cancellations inched up to 6% just a day after the Senate passed the spending bill to end the government shutdown. Even if the government reopens by the end of the week, it could take longer for the air traffic schedule to return to normal.
Taiwan has evacuated 8,300 people and closed schools before a tropical storm brushes the southern part of the island later today.
