Why is Turkey buying record amounts of diesel from India? In August 2026, Turkey's imports of Indian diesel surged to record levels, with Kpler data cited by Reuters showing more than 120,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Indian diesel shipments. At the same time, Turkish imports of Russian diesel fell sharply to around 80,000 bpd, compared with more than 200,000 bpd earlier in 2026.
