SÜDKOREA: Linker Lee Jae Myung gewinnt Präsidentenwahl! Annäherung an Nordkorea möglichDer linke Politiker Lee Jae Myung hat die Präsidentenwahl in Südkorea gewonnen. Nach Auszählung fast aller Stimmen liegt der Oppositionspolitiker laut der amtlichen Nachrichtenagentur Yonhap klar vor dem konservativen Kandidaten Kim Moon Soo. Der 73-jährige Kim hatte seine Wahlniederlage laut Yonhap bereits eingestanden.
Lee lag Yonhap zufolge mit 49,4 Prozent der Stimmen vor Kim, der 41,2 Prozent erhalten hatte. Zu dem Zeitpunkt waren rund 99,8 Prozent der Stimmen ausgezählt. Das abschließende Ergebnis wird in den Morgenstunden (Ortszeit) erwartet. Die Wahlbeteiligung lag mit 79,4 Prozent überaus hoch.
Die Südkoreaner haben damit für einen politischen Richtungswechsel gestimmt. Lee kommt aus dem linken Oppositionslager und ist ein Kontrahent des konservativen Ex-Präsidenten Yoon Suk Yeol, der das ostasiatische Land Ende 2024 in eine mehrmonatige Staatskrise stürzte.
