Alors que le nouveau président syrien tente d’unifier le pays, la minorité kurde voit son rêve d’autonomie s’envoler. Les Kurdes ont perdu, par les armes, une grande partie du territoire acquis pendant la guerre civile en Syrie, et leurs alliés occidentaux les ont abandonnés. Ce sont pourtant eux qui avaient vaincu l’État islamique et géré pendant des années les prisonniers djihadistes toujours détenus dans le pays. Mais pour l’Europe et les États-Unis, l’avenir de la Syrie passe par le président Ahmedal-Charaa, un ancien djihadiste qui fait peu de cas du sort des minorités.
