Afghanistan says it has killed dozens of Pakistani soldiers in overnight border operations on Saturday. Pakistan also claims to have killed scores of Afghan forces in the clashes. Key crossings along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, including at Torkham, have now been closed. The Taliban government accuses Pakistan of repeated territory and airspace violations, including explosions in Kabul and in the eastern Afghan province of Paktika on Thursday. Some analysts contend Pakistan initiated the strikes – which they have not yet claimed responsibility for – in response to Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Muttaqi’s visit to India.Pakistan says Afghan authorities are harboring members of the banned militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who have carried out attacks on Pakistani soil.
