Was die beiden verbindet, ist außergewöhnlich: Dank einer Knochenmarkspende von Felix hat Taio eine lebensbedrohliche Erkrankung überstanden. Heute sind aus Spender und Empfänger enge Freunde geworden. ❤️
Als bei Taio im Alter von drei Jahren eine seltene Knochenmarks-Erkrankung diagnostiziert wird, steht die Welt seiner Familie still. Nach vielen Untersuchungen, Therapien und bangen Monaten bleibt schließlich nur noch eine Hoffnung: eine Knochenmarktransplantation.
Die Rettung kommt durch die Hilfsbereitschaft vieler Menschen und einen jungen Mann, den die Familie damals noch nicht kennt. Felix registriert sich als Spender und wird zum genetischen Treffer.
Zwei Jahre später lernen sich die beiden erstmals persönlich kennen. Seitdem gehört Felix fast schon zur Familie. Für Taio ist er längst mehr als nur ein Spender: „Er ist so wie mein Freund.“
Ihre Geschichte zeigt, wie aus einer guten Tat eine ganz besondere Verbindung entstehen kann und warum jede Registrierung bei der DKMS Leben retten kann.
