Pasalnya, Khalil Abu Mahmoud meninggal seusai ditembak Israel pada Rabu (29/5).
Almarhum ditembaki Israel saat melakukan tugas kemanusiaan.
Dikutip dari Wartakota, kabar duka itu disampaikan oleh MER-C Indonesia melalui akun Instagramnya pada Jumat (31/5).
Dalam unggahannya, Khalil Abu Mahmoud meninggal karena luka tembak.
Khalil disebut mati syahid saat membangikan bantuan di camp pengungsian Deir Al Balah pada Rabu sore.
Dalam kondisi yang bersamaan, tentara Israel melakukan serangan membabi buta ke warga Palestina.
Ketua AWG Biro Gaza, Bilal Mahmud An Bar mengatakan Khalil terkena tembakan sniper Israel.
Tembakan itu disebut tepat mengenai perut Khalil hingga hancur dan meninggal sebelum sampai di rumah sakit.
Perlu diketahui, Khalil merupakan relawan Lokal Aqsa Working Group Biro Gaza.
“Semoga amal kebaikan Almarhum diterima Allah SWT dan diberikan tempat terbaik di sisi-NYA,” tulis MER-C Indonesia.
Pihaknya kerap menjadi perantara penyaluran kebaikan titipan dari para donatur Indonesia.
Berkat Khalil, bantuan makanan untuk dapat tersalurkan secara langsung dan tepat sasaran di Gaza.
