- Both options were laid out in detail along with backing terrorism inside Iran, using Israel to attack Iran by proxy, and the launching of an extensive US air campaign against Iran in the 2009 Brookings paper, "Which Path to Persia;"
- These are all options the US prepared for ahead of time and is only piecemeal selling to the public to make it appear that developments are "organic" rather than premeditated;
