Hal itu disampaikan Nurul dalam rapat dengan pendapat dengan Lembaga Ketahanan Nasional (Lemhannas) di Gedung DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Kamis (13/6/2024).
Menurutnya, tidak ada yang salah mengucapkan salam lintas agama karena Indonesia adalah negara majemuk.
Nurul pun meminta Setjen Watannas memberikan sikap kebangsaan atas polemik ini.
"Saya berharap ada satu institusi yang sifatnya nasional selain BPIP yang bisa memberikan statement kebangsaan tersebut," kata Nurul dalam siaran YouTube Komisi I DPR RI Channel.
"Statement kebangsaan tersebut apa salahnya kita kan negara pluralis dan majemuk, justru perbedaan itu membuat bangsa ini menjadi besar kuat dan disegani," imbuhnya.
