JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Awal Deklarasi & Desain Konsep pada Februari – Desember 2024 Pemerintahan Presiden Prabowo Subianto meluncurkan program ambisius tiga juta rumah per tahun untuk masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah (MBR), sebagai bagian dari program strategis nasional → total 15 juta unit dalam satu periode 5 tahun.Hal itu jadi proposal gagasan Prabowo Pada saat pilpres tahun 2024 Tiga juta rumah yaitu masing-masing;
• 1 juta rumah di pedesaan
• 1 juta rumah di wilayah pesisir
• 1 juta rumah di perkotaan
Pada 8 Januari 2025, Pemerintah Indonesia menandatangani nota kesepahaman dengan investor asal Qatar—Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Thani dari Qilaa International Group—untuk membiayai pembangunan 1 juta unit rumah terjangkau bagi masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah melalui skema Government‑to‑Government (G2G). Pemerintah menyediakan lahan, sementara investor bertindak sebagai kontraktor sekaligus pemodal proyek.
Namun kabar terakhir sampai video ini dibuat yaitu pada 26 Juni 2025. Sekretaris Jenderal Dewan Keluarga Kerajaan Qatar, Syekh Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman Hassan Al-Thani telah menggelontorkan untuk proyek ini sekitar 2,5 miliar dolar Amerika Serikat atau setara Rp 40 triliun. Ditargetkan selasi dibangun dalam kurun 2 tahun.
Sampai pada akhirnya Awal Juni 2025 viral video mock up rumah subsidi seluas bangunan 18 meter persegi yang berujung tui polemik dari masyarakat. Karena ukuranya dinilai terlalu kecil.
