Lima jet tempur milik militer Kiev dilaporkan hancur dalam insiden itu.
Dikutip dari The Moscow Times, informasi ini dibagikan Kementerian Pertahanan Rusia pada Selasa (2/7/2024).
Mereka mengklaim menyerang lapangan udara Myrhorod di wilayah Poltava, Ukraina.
Akibat serangan tersebut, lima jet tempur multiguna Su-27 yang masih aktif hancur, sementara dua lainnya rusak.
Militer Moskow turut mengunggah video detik-detik penyerangan terhadap pangkalan udara Ukraina.
Dalam video itu sebuah ledakan terlihat dibarengi dengan kepulan asap dari sebuah lapangan terbang.
Mantan juru bicara Angkatan Udara Ukraina, Yuriy Ihnat mengonfirmasi serangan terhadap Myrhorod.
Ia menuduh militer Rusia membesar-besarkan tingkat kerusakan.
Ihnat tak membantah ada kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh serangan Rusia.
Namun, kerugiannya tak seperti yang diungkapkan Kemenhan Rusia.
"Ada kerugian, tetapi sama sekali tidak seperti yang diklaim musuh karena mereka selalu melakukan ini sejak awal invasi," tulis Ihnat di Facebook tak lama setelah tengah malam.
