LIVE: MONSTER Flood Rips Dam In Tibet; Nepal Braces For Another Apocalyptic Horror | Firstpost Live
A massive barrier lake in Tibet began overflowing, leading to a dam burst, triggering fears of another devastating flood surge along the Nepal-Tibet border, just days after catastrophic flooding killed hundreds and left more than 1,400 people missing. Nepal has temporarily halted rescue operations in some areas and warned residents to move to higher ground as authorities monitor the growing flood threat. The earlier disaster struck Nepal's Rasuwa district and parts of Tibet after ice and rock collapsed in the high Himalayas, unleashing a torrent of water and debris downstream. Roads, bridges and critical infrastructure were destroyed, while entire communities were swept away. Nearly 500 people are feared dead, with more than 1,400 still unaccounted for, including hundreds of Indian nationals. More than 3,000 people have already been airlifted, but rescue teams are facing treacherous terrain, damaged roads and the threat of further flooding.
