Sono 19.104 strisce di stoffa bianca, strappate da vecchi lenzuoli, e su ognuna è scritto il nome di un bambino di Gaza ucciso. Sono appese tra gli alberi del Giardino dell'Ardiglione-Nidiaci in Oltrarno e farle sono stati gli alunni che frequentano la scuola media Machiavelli e il giardino del rione.
L'installazione contro l'indiffirenza, che sarà inaugurata il 22 febbraio alle 15, è nata dall'idea di alcuni docenti della scuola e poi si è estesa a tutte le classi. I professori ne hanno parlato con gli alunni in aula poi per le vacanze di Natale hanno dato a ciascuno di loro un kit con 25 pezzi di stoffa, un pennarello e un elenco di 25 nomi di bambini deceduti, presi dalla lista ufficiale dell'anagrafe palestinese. «Non sono numeri, ma persone con un nome. Con questa iniziativa volevamo restituire loro, in qualche modo, l'identità di bambini» dicono i docenti. «Commemorarli, ma anche dare un segno di speranza per fare in modo che i bambini siano davvero intoccabili».
L'installazione è poi stata donata al giardino dell'Ardiglione-Nidiaci (dove sono state organizzate anche due giornate di attività coinvolgendo altri bambini del quartiere per realizzare ulteriori strisce) dove rimarrà esposta per un po' di tempo. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
