Laporan ini muncul di tengah IDF gencar menggempur Rafah, dan rencana Israel menyerang Lebanon.
Padahal sebelumnya, Biden mengaku akan berhenti mengirim bom dan peluru artileri ke Israel jika negara mereka melancarkan invasi besar ke Rafah.
American Wall Street Journal mengonfirmasi bahwa Washington telah menyetujui pengiriman bom sebanyak 1.700 unit ke Israel.
Ribuan bom tersebut seberat 500 pon atau 226 kilogram.
Pengiriman bom tersebut diperkirakan akan tiba dalam beberapa minggu mendatang.
Sumber pejabat AS mengatakan bom seberat 500 pon itu adalah senjata yang sempat ditangguhkan oleh pemerintahan Biden dua bulan lalu.
Sementara itu, AS saat ini masih menangguhkan pengiriman bom seberat 2.000 pon.
Meski ada penundaan pasok senjata, Israel tetap menerima aliran persenjataan AS lainnya secara stabil.
Di sisi lain, pengiriman senjata AS ini di tengah Israel berencana menggempur Lebanon yang dikuasai Hizbullah.
Israel disebut-sebut akan melancarkan serangan terhadap Lebanon akhir Juli 2024.
Ketegangan kedua negara tersebut kian meningkat.
Skala serang dan saling baku tembak semakin sering di wilayah perbatasan.
