Decine di negozi del centro di Firenze resteranno chiusi per tutta la giornata di sabato per tutelarsi in caso di possibili atti di vandalismo. Altri invece si stanno organizzando con delle coperture in legno. Via Tornabuoni, ad esempio, cambia volto con quasi tutti gli esercizi commerciali che si proteggono non alterno con il truciolato sulle vetrine ma anche con una guardia giurata. Per le strade del centro passeggia Aldo Cursano, presidente di Confcommercio Firenze, visibilmente sconsolato: «È una sconfitta per tutti arrivare a questo punto, è triste vedere che i negozi chiudono i decidano di blindare i loro ingressi». Agenti di polizia stanno già presidiando alcune piazze, tra cui piazza della Repubblica dove vengono fermati soggetti sospetti con richieste di documenti. In via Strozzi si sente il rumore del trapano che irrobustisce le vetrine con il legno. Ma sono tanti i negozi - la maggior parte - che scelgono di non chiudere e di non proteggersi: «Abbiamo fiducia nei giovani - dicono in tanti, anche gente che passeggia in città - Sappiamo che avranno senso di responsabilità anche alla luce di quanto accaduto a Milano pochi giorni fa».
