China reafirma su oposición a cualquier uso de armas químicas

Las Naciones Unidas informan de que un equipo de su Oficina de Misiones Especiales ha encontrado en Siria decenas de armas químicas que no habían sido declaradas previamente a la Organización para la Prohibición de las Armas Químicas. Entre ellas se encuentran bombas aéreas del mismo tipo que las utilizadas en los ataques perpetrados en las ciudades sirias de Latamna y Khan Shaykhun en 2017. En ese sentido, en el Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU, China reafirmó su oposición al uso de armas químicas por parte de cualquier país, organización o individuo bajo cualquier circunstancia, y destacó que cualquier acto de este tipo debe ser condenado enérgicamente. Sun Lei, representante permanente adjunto de China ante la ONU, instó a todas las partes a trabajar para cerrar cuanto antes el expediente sobre las armas químicas de Siria. Afirmó que la Organización para la Prohibición de las Armas Químicas debe cumplir con su mandato, y destacó la importancia de la cooperación antiterrorista en todo el mundo.
