Durch die schweren Erdbeben in Venezuela sind nach ersten Angaben der Regierung mindestens 32 Menschen ums Leben gekommen. Mindestens 700 Menschen wurden demnach verletzt. Aus dem besonders betroffenen Bundesstaat La Guaira gebe es noch keine Opferzahlen, sagte die geschäftsführende Präsidentin Delcy Rodríguez.Sie rief angesichts der "Tragödie" den Notstand aus. "Ich möchte die Ärzte, Krankenschwestern und das gesamte Gesundheitspersonal aufrufen, sich an ihre Arbeitsplätze zu begeben, damit wir die Menschen versorgen können, die in die Notaufnahmen sowohl der Krankenhäuser als auch der privaten Gesundheitszentren gebracht werden", sagte sie in einer landesweit ausgestrahlten Ansprache.
