17 haitianos llegan a Santiago de Cuba y regresan a Haití
Diecisiete migrantes haitianos que, según la mayoría de los reportes, viajaban hacia Estados Unidos acabaron en la playa de Siboney, en Santiago de Cuba, y días después regresaron a Haití. Otaola usa el caso para hablar de lo que, a su juicio, revela sobre Cuba.La noche del 21 de septiembre de 2026, 17 migrantes haitianos (14 hombres, una mujer y dos menores) llegaron a la playa de Siboney, en Santiago de Cuba, tras unos siete días a la deriva en una embarcación artesanal. OnCuba, Infobae y Periódico Cubano sitúan su destino en Estados Unidos; CiberCuba menciona Jamaica. Según los reportes, el mal tiempo desvió el rumbo.
Aris Arias Batalla, de la Cruz Roja Cubana en Santiago, informó en Facebook de la asistencia médica y del regreso voluntario del grupo a Haití el 29 de septiembre, desde el aeropuerto Antonio Maceo.
En el video, Otaola cuenta el caso en tono de humor y asegura que los haitianos pidieron volver y no quedarse en la isla. Las fuentes consultadas hablan de un “retorno voluntario”, pero ninguna recoge esa petición con sus palabras ni dice que rechazaran quedarse. A partir de ahí, el presentador sostiene que, si ni quienes escapan de la pobreza quieren quedarse en Cuba, los cubanos deberían exigir un cambio de sistema, recordar el 11 de julio de 2021 y salir a la calle. Es su posición editorial; el video no aporta datos sobre la decisión de ese grupo.
