India has busted an alleged Pakistan-based and ISI-backed Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN) in a major multi-state security crackdown ahead of Independence Day. According to the government, 253 people were detained across 14 states, more than 200 arrests have been recorded and over 80 FIRs have been registered in cases linked to the network.
In this video, we explain the Shahzad Bhatti Network crackdown, Amit Shah’s statement, the alleged ISI connection, and how security agencies coordinated operations across states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. Authorities also reported recovering IEDs, grenades carrying Pakistan Ordnance Factory markings, pistols, ammunition and CCTV equipment allegedly used for surveillance and espionage.
The video also examines the larger security picture: alleged sleeper cells, social-media recruitment, radicalisation, reconnaissance and local operatives connected to investigations into the network. Earlier 2026 investigations had already linked Shahzad Bhatti to alleged recruitment and terror-crime activities across northern India, while the NIA had conducted raids connected to Bhatti-linked cases in Punjab and Haryana.
