La "prueba n.º 1 en el caso de la Masacre de Nanjing"

Hace más de ochenta años, el 13 de diciembre de 1937, el ejército imperial japonés irrumpió por esta puerta en la entonces capital de China: Nanjing. Lo que siguió fue una de las masacres más atroces de toda la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En solo seis semanas, las tropas japonesas descargaron una violencia indescriptible contra civiles chinos desarmados y prisioneros de guerra.
En octubre de 1945, el gobierno nacionalista presentó al Cuartel General de las Fuerzas Aliadas una lista de los principales criminales de guerra japoneses. Evidencia aportada por la población fluía de manera continua. Entre ellos, un álbum con dieciséis fotografías en blanco y negro fue designado como "prueba n.º 1 en el caso de la Masacre de Nanjing".
