Terlebih setelah Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) menggeledah kantor dan rumahnya tersebut pada Rabu (17/7/2024).
Diketahui, pelantikan Mba Ita sebagai Wali Kota Semarang menandai adanyan wanita pertama yang menjabat sebagai Wali Kota di Semarang.
Pelantikan Ita sebagai Wali Kota Semarang dihadiri langsung oleh Presiden RI kelima, Megawati Soekarnoputri dan Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Tengah, Ganjar Pranowo.
Ita diketahui lahir di Kota Semarang pada 4 Mei 1966.
Dia merupakan lulusan S1 Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (1984-1989).
Setelah lulus menempuh program S1, Ita melanjutkan ke jenjang S2 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Diponegoro (2018-2019).
Mba Ita menikah dengan politikus yang kini menjabat sebagai Ketua Komisi D DPRD Provinsi Jawa Tengah, Alwin Basri.
Pernikahan mereka dikaruniai putra bernama M Farras Razin Perdana yang kini berprofesi sebagai dokter.
Sebelum terjun ke dunia politik, Ita mengawali kariernya dengan bekerja di Bank Universal pada 1991-2002.
Tak hanya di dunia perbankan, Ita juga pernah menjabat sebagai direktur di sejumlah perusahaan.
Dia tercatat pernah menjadi Direktur Utama PT Adita Farasjaya pada 2003-2005.
Lalu menjadi Direktur Utama PT Sarana Patra Hulu Cepu pada 2006-2015.
Pada 2016-2021, Mba Ita berpasangan dengan Hendrar Prihadi menjadi Wakil Wali Kota dan Wali Kota Semarang periode 2016-2021 dan 2021-2022.
Saat ini, selain menjabat sebagai Wali Kota Semarang, Ita juga menjadi Wakil Ketua DPC PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Kota Semarang.
