La trattativa dura 40 minuti. Da una parte tre equipaggi della polizia stradale di Pian del Voglio (Bologna) e dall'altra Federico Vella, l'impiegato fiorentino di 36 anni che giovedì ha ucciso la sua ex compagna, Lorena Isceri, originaria della Puglia, 45 anni, gettandola dal cavalcavia che si trova sulla A1 a Barberino del Mugello, in provincia di Firenze. É un'agente donna di 24 anni, che si chiama Ilaria, a instaurare un dialogo con l'assassino che è dietro il guard rail e non vuole che nessuno si avvicini. Il video - agli atti dell'inchiesta - dura 40 minuti e lo gira un poliziotto col cellulare di servizio. Nel video Vella viene spesso chiamato dai poliziotti che gli chiedono di tornare sulla strada, l'agente donna lo implora. E mentre la trattativa va avanti, i poliziotti capiscono che Lorena è morta e non è più chiusa nel bagagliaio.Negli ultimi 10 minuti si vede la poliziotta che si inginocchia per convincere l'assassino a non buttarsi di sotto: «Ho chiamato la tua mamma, stai tranquillo, ti sto chiedendo un favore, ti ho chiesto di venire solo da questa altra parte, almeno vieni qua», dice l'agente mentre i colleghi si allontanano.
