Dalam video yang viral di media sosial, Wahyu Moridu tampak membuat pernyataan yang memicu kemarahan netizen.
Tampak Wahyu bersama seorang wanita sesumbar akan "merampok uang negara".
"Hari ini menuju Makassar menggunakan uang negara," ucapnya sambil tertawa.
"Kita rampok aja uang negara ini kan. Kita habiskan aja, biar negara ini makin miskin," sahut Wahyu.
Ternyata, rekam jejak Wahyu tak lepas dari kontroversi.
Pada Maret 2020, Wahyu ditangkap bersama dua anggota DPRD lainya di Jakarta atas kasus penyalahgunaan narkoba.
Ia bahkan secara terbuka mengaku pernah kecanduan obat-obatan terlarang selama bertahun-tahun sebelum akhirnya direhabilitasi.
Atas viralnya video kontroversialnya, Wahyu kemudian menyampaikan permintaan maafnya melalui akun Facebook pada Jumat (19/9/2025).
Ia mengakui perbuatannya telah membuat kegaduhan di masyarakat.
"Jujur dari hati yang paling dalam saya tidak bermaksud demikian. Atas kejadian ini Saya mohon maaf beribu ribu maaf kepada seluruh Rakyat Gorontalo, bilkhusus kepada Semua pendukung dan Keluarga saya," tambahnya.
Unggahan permintaan maaf itu pun langsung mendapat ribuan komentar dari warganet.
