En su reunión con el presidente cubano Miguel Díaz-Canel, el presidente chino Xi Jinping señaló que este año se cumple el 65º aniversario del establecimiento de relaciones diplomáticas entre ambos países. Afirmó que ambas naciones deben aprovechar esta oportunidad para elevar las relaciones bilaterales a un nivel superior y aportar más beneficios a ambos pueblos. Instó a ambas partes a implementar de manera efectiva la Iniciativa de Desarrollo Global, la Iniciativa de Seguridad Global, la Iniciativa de Civilización Global y la Iniciativa de Gobernanza Global, y a trabajar juntas para construir mejor la Organización Internacional para la Mediación con el fin de hacer mayores contribuciones a la paz y el desarrollo mundiales. A su vez, el presidente Díaz-Canel manifestó que Cuba espera fortalecer la cooperación integral y la cooperación bilateral de alta calidad en el marco de la Franja y la Ruta, y está dispuesta a proporcionar un entorno comercial más favorable para las empresas chinas.
