TÜBINGEN: Boris Palmer greift zur Gartenschere – jetzt geht es der Bürokratie an den Kragen!Tübingens Oberbürgermeister Boris Palmer soll für die baden-württembergische Landesregierung ausufernde Bürokratie bekämpfen. Der Ex-Grüne wird für zwei Jahre unabhängiger Rat für Staatsmodernisierung. Der sechsköpfige Normenkontrollrat, der sich aktuell um Bürokratievermeidung und -abbau kümmert, soll zum Jahresende aufgelöst werden.
Palmer beschreibt seinen Ansatz mit der Gartenschere seines Vaters. Sie steht für seinen Kampf gegen das Bürokratiedickicht. Er will Regeln, Normen und Standards zurechtstutzen. Dabei setzt er nach eigenen Worten auf Präzisionsarbeit.
Im Wahlkampf unterstützte Palmer Cem Özdemir. Beide kennen sich auch privat. Im Februar traute Palmer Özdemir und dessen Ehefrau. Deshalb gab es Spekulationen über ein Ministeramt für den Ex-Grünen.
Palmer bleibt hauptamtlich Oberbürgermeister von Tübingen. Seine neue Aufgabe übernimmt er zusätzlich.
