Ông Biden khẳng định sẽ đánh bại ông Trump, từ chối yêu cầu bỏ tái tranh cử từ các nghị sĩ Dân chủTờ The Hill dẫn bức thư được nhóm tranh cử của Tổng thống Biden chia sẻ viết rằng, những tranh cãi xoay quanh màn đối đầu trên truyền hình có phần lép vế của ông trước đối thủ Donald Trump hôm 27/6 “đã nhấn chìm đảng Dân chủ”.
“Câu hỏi về việc làm thế nào chúng ta tiếp tục tiến về phía trước đã được chú ý suốt một tuần nay. Chúng ta còn 42 ngày nữa là tới sự kiện Đại hội toàn quốc đảng Dân chủ, và 119 ngày nữa là tới cuộc bầu cử tổng thống. Bất kỳ suy yếu nào trong sự quyết tâm hay sự thiếu rõ ràng trong nhiệm vụ phía trước sẽ chỉ giúp cho đối thủ Trump, và khiến chúng ta bị tổn thương. Đã đến lúc chúng ta sát cánh cùng nhau, tiến về phía trước như một đảng thống nhất và đánh bại ông Trump”, một đoạn trong bức thư của ông Biden viết.
