Kelompok anti-pemukiman Peace Now melaporkan pada hari Rabu bahwa otoritas Israel telah menyatakan 3.138 hektar tanah di Lembah Yordan sebagai “tanah negara”.
Perampasan ini yang membuka jalan bagi pembangunan ratusan unit perumahan permukiman.
Menurut pengawas tersebut, perampasan yang disetujui bulan lalu tetapi baru dipublikasikan pada hari Rabu, adalah perampasan tanah terbesar sejak Perjanjian Oslo 1993.
Tindakan ini menyusul serangkaian perampasan tanah serupa di Tepi Barat yang diduduki, dengan 1.976 hektar di Lembah Yordan pada bulan Maret.
Lalu 652 hektar lagi antara pemukiman Maale Adumim dan Kedar pada bulan Februari.
Kelompok tersebut memperkirakan bahwa Israel telah mendeklarasikan 5.856 hektar Tepi Barat sebagai tanah negara sejak awal tahun 2024.
Menteri Keuangan Israel Bezalel Smotrich telah mengawasi lonjakan penyitaan tanah Palestina dan perluasan pemukiman sejak memperoleh kewenangan luas atas perencanaan pemukiman di Tepi Barat yang diduduki.
Bulan lalu, dalam sebuah konferensi untuk Partai Keagamaan Nasional-Partai Zionisme Keagamaannya, Smotrich mengakui bahwa Israel tengah memajukan rencana untuk mencaplok Tepi Barat “tanpa menuduh pemerintah mencaploknya”.(*)
