In Wilamowice im Süden Polens kämpfen Bewohner darum, ihre seltene Minderheitensprache Wilmesaurisch zu erhalten. Obwohl das polnische Parlament sie als schützenswerte Regionalsprache anerkannt hat, legte Präsident Karol Nawrocki sein Veto gegen ein entsprechendes Gesetz ein.Doch gerade junge Menschen lassen sich nicht bremsen: Sie lernen Wilmesaurisch, studieren Theaterstücke in der Sprache ein und vernetzen sich auf TikTok und weltweit in Sprach-Communities. So wie der Schüler Piotrek Biba: „Manche lachen mich aus, aber andere grüßen mich schon auf Wilmesaurisch.“
