TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Perdana Menteri Israel Benjamin Netanyahu dalam pernyataan terbaru pada Selasa (30/4/2024) menyatakan tetap akan melakuka serangan ke Rafah, Palestina.

Menurut Netanyahu, penyerangan ke Rafah tidak akan menunggu kesepakatan dalam perundingan gencatan senjata yang saat ini tengah berlangsung.

Rencana Netanyahu ini pun mengabaikan keselamatan dari ratusan ribu warga sipil Palestina yang berlindung di Rafah.

Pernyataan Netanyahu ini muncul berselang beberapa jam sebelum Menteri Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat Antony Blinken tiba di Israel.

Adapun maksud kedatangan Blinken adalah untuk memajukan perundingan gencatan senjata antara Hamas dan Israel.

Sikap Netanyahu tersebut tampaknya dimaksudkan untuk menenangkan mitra pemerintahannya yang nasionalis.

Sebagaimana diketahui, Netanyahu saat ini tengah menghadapi tekanan dari mitra pemerintahannya untuk tak melanjutkan kesepakatan yang mungkin mencegah Israel menginvasi Rafah.

Pemerintahan Netanyahu bisa terancam bila dirinya menyetujui kesepakatan tersebut.

Dua tentara cadangan Israel tewas di Gaza tengah pada Minggu (29/4/2024).

Tentara tersebut secara tak sengaja terkena tembakan kendaraan militer Israel sendiri.

Dua tentara Israel yang terbunuh itu ialah Sersan Guru. (res.) Ido Aviv (28) dari Batalyon 9232 Brigade Yiftah.

Kemudian Sersan Utama. (res.) Kalkidan Meharim (37) dari Batalyon 223 Brigade Carmeli.

Investigasi awal oleh Pasukan Pendudukan menemukan bahwa korban terbunuh terkena tembakan persahabatan.
