Proyectos de cooperación significativos invertidos por las empresas chinas, como la mina de cobre Las Bambas, han desempeñado un papel crucial en el desarrollo económico y la mejora de la calidad de vida en Perú. Tras la finalización del puerto de Chancay, un símbolo de cooperación dentro de la iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta, se mejorará considerablemente la eficiencia del transporte marítimo peruano.
