A Ignoto X, l'avvocato penalista Bartolomeo Romano ha offerto una riflessione lucida e scomoda sul caso Garlasco. La condanna di Stasi, dice, è arrivata anche per ragioni extraguidiziali: il suo sguardo, la sua freddezza, lo avevano già deposto nel banco dei condannati nell'opinione pubblica. Una condanna a furor di popolo, perché si vuole sempre un colpevole — lo vuole la famiglia Poggi, che non a caso è contraria alle indagini su Sempio, lo vuole l'opinione pubblica. Ora però, avverte Romano, il copione si è invertito: per l'opinione pubblica è certamente Sempio il colpevole, e Stasi è innocente. Un meccanismo pericoloso, dice il legale, perché non si può invocare il sentimento comune per stabilire la colpevolezza di qualcuno. Nei prossimi mesi, aggiunge, si aprirà una situazione paradossale: ci sarà una richiesta di rinvio a giudizio nei confronti di Sempio, e poi un giudice che la accoglierà o meno.
