Der Eiskanal ist als Teil des Augsburger Wassermanagement-Systems UNESCO-Welterbe und eng verknüpft mit den Stadtbächen und Kanälen. Wenn aber der Lech, aus dem sich das ganze System speist, zu wenig Wasser führt, dann wird als erstes das Wildwasser abgedreht.
