JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Apakah Anda memiliki rekening di bank yang tak pernah digunakan untuk bertransaksi dalam jangka waktu lama?Jika iya, maka bisa saja rekening menganggur Anda dibekukan oleh Pusat Pelaporan dan Analisis Transaksi Keuangan atau PPATK.
PPATK menyebut menghentikan sementara rekening menganggur atau dormant untuk melindungi nasabah.
Data PPATK bilang ada 140 ribu lebih rekening dormant yang membuka celah digunakan untuk kejahatan.
Merespons pembekuan rekening menganggur, Menko Polkam Budi Gunawan menyebut pemerintah bakal memastikan dana masyarakat tetap dijamin.
Kemenko Polkam akan berkoordinasi dengan PPATK & stakeholder terkait untuk menjaga dan melindungi masyarakat atas dana yang dimiliki & disimpan di perbankan, kata Budi Gunawan dalam siaran persnya.
PPATK sebelumnya mengungkap rekening dormant atau yang tidak digunakan dalam jangka waktu lama rawan disalahgunakan, misalnya untuk transaksi tindak pidana hingga korupsi.
Namun, di sisi lain masyarakat juga perlu mendapat penjelasan lebih utuh soal pembekuan rekening mereka yang tak aktif, agar hak masyarakat untuk mengelola rekening banknya sendiri tidak terciderai.
