Qiuyu Ren of Stanford University presents "Gluing formulas for Khovanov skein lasagna modules, and detection of exotic 4-manifolds" at IPAM's Quantum topology, character varieties and low-dimensional geometry Tutorials.Abstract: We describe a general procedure for obtaining a gluing formula for skein lasagna modules, then specialize it to the case of 4-dimensional handle attachments. Then, we state and motivate some vanishing and nonvanishing results for Khovanov skein lasagna modules of 4-dimensional 2-handlebodies. Using the nonvanishing criteria, we show that Khovanov skein lasagna module detects exotic pairs of compact oriented 4-manifolds with boundary.
