Permohonan abolisi untuk Tom Lembong itu disampaikan tertanggal 30 Juli 2025 lewat Surat Presiden nomor R43.
"DPR RI telah memberikan pertimbangan dan persetujuan terhadap Surat Presiden Nomor R43/Pres tanggal 30 Juli 2025 tentang permintaan pertimbangan DPR RI tentang pemberian abolisi terhadap Saudara Tom Lembong," kata Dasco di Kompleks Parlemen, Kamis (31/7/2025).
Tom Lembong dihukum 4,5 tahun penjara oleh Pengadilan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Jakarta karena dianggap terbukti melakukan perbuatan korupsi terkait impor gula kristal mentah.
DPR pun telah menyetujui permohonan abolisi untuk Tom Lembong tersebut.
Selain itu DPR juga menyetujui amnesti untuk Hasto Kristiyanto yang telah divonis 3,5 tahun penjara di kasus suap pergantian antar waktu.
“Pemberian persetujuan dan pertimbangan atas Surat Presiden Nomor 42 Pres 07 27 25 tanggal 30 Juli 2025 tentang amnesti terhadap 116 orang yang telah terpidana, diberikan amnesti, termasuk saudara Hasto Kristiyanto,” kata Wakil Ketua DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad di Gedung DPR, Jakarta, Kamis (31/7/2025).
Sebagai informasi abolisi adalah hak prerogatif seorang presiden untuk menghapus atau meniadakan suatu peristiwa pidana.
Pasal 14 ayat (2) UUD 1945 menyatakan, presiden berhak memberikan abolisi dengan memperhatikan pertimbangan DPR.
