A young orphan, Xiao Hu, wanders the world in search of his family. Duan Laohu, a washed-up martial arts master, is crippled after refusing a bribe from the ruthless CEO Zhao. Despondent, he becomes a chronic drunkard. Xiao Hu, seeing injustice, beats his henchmen into a rout. Duan Laohu discovers Xiao Hu's talent for martial arts and wants to take him on as a disciple to fulfill his long-held wish of winning the title of "King of Martial Arts." During a trial run of a ring competition, Xiao Hu, itching to show off his skills, steps onto the stage and knocks out a master, instantly becoming famous. To challenge the "King of Martial Arts"—Gao Qiang—one must pass five trials and win five matches to qualify. Xiao Hu trains relentlessly, each match more spectacular than the last. His lightning-fast strikes astound the audience, earning Gao Qiang's admiration, who publicly declares: "I have never faced a truly powerful opponent in my life." To protect himself, President Zhao resorted to kidnapping Xiao Hu on the eve of the challenge. Fortunately, Xiao Hu was quick-witted and broke free, arriving at the arena in time. After a fierce and evenly matched battle, Xiao Hu turned the tide and won the title of "King of Fighting".
