This talk explores how this silent crisis shows up in classrooms and homes, and why it often gets mistaken for defiance, disinterest, or "just a phase." Drawing from years of work as a school counsellor and art therapist, Sonika Sidharth unpacks why teaching children how to feel is as important as teaching them what to know. The talk offers a compelling call to action: to build emotional literacy into everyday learning, before silence becomes the only language our children know. Sonika Sidharth is a counselling psychologist, art therapist, and passionate advocate for children's emotional well-being. Believing that every child communicates in unique ways, she has dedicated her work to helping young minds express, understand, and navigate their emotions with confidence. She is the founder of Mindset Reset, an initiative that encourages open conversations around emotional well-being and promotes emotionally safe communities. Through her work with children, parents, and educators, Sonika continues to champion the importance of empathy, connection, and mental wellness.
