A missão Artemis II da NASA amerissará no Oceano Pacífico por volta das 20h07 EDT (horário de Brasília) desta sexta-feira, 10 de abril (00h07 UTC de 11 de abril).
A tripulação da Artemis II é composta por quatro astronautas — três da NASA e um da Agência Espacial Canadense (CSA):
• Reid Wiseman, astronauta da NASA e comandante da Artemis II
• Victor Glover, astronauta da NASA e piloto da Artemis II
• Christina Koch, astronauta da NASA e especialista da missão Artemis II
• Jeremy Hansen, astronauta da Agência Espacial Canadense (CSA) e especialista da missão Artemis II
Os astronautas da Artemis II partiram em 1º de abril para uma jornada de dez dias que os levou mais longe do que qualquer ser humano já viajou da Terra. A bordo da espaçonave Orion, chamada Integrity, eles orbitaram a Lua, realizando observações que ajudarão a aprimorar o conhecimento científico.
Artemis II é o primeiro teste de voo tripulado do foguete Space Launch System e da espaçonave Orion da NASA, testando as tecnologias que precisaremos para a exploração lunar de longo prazo e missões humanas a Marte.
